Michael Ball hits the open field in gridiron action against West Seneca East.
The Gowanda Pee Wee Panthers were in action against the West Seneca East Pee Wee squad on Sept. 1. The Panthers are coming together as a young squad. The Panthers played an amazing game on defense and they were led by a bunch of Lil’ Panther Pack. Some of them with standout games were: George Kruska with 7 tackles, John Smuda had 5 tackles plus a 15-yard interception return, Evan Fort had 5 tackles, Jackeb Millar had 5 tackles with a fumble recovery, Colin Magee and Kyle Cygan both added 3 tackles. Kai Kendall had 2 tackles plus a fumble recovery and Bryce Benedict was disruptive on “D” all day.
On offense, Tyler Smith racked up 140 yards rushing, had two touchdowns and was a great team leader. Evan Fort ran for 56 yards, a TD, and a 2-point conversion; 45 rushing yards were piled on by Michael Ball. John Smuda also added 32 yards and ran hard.
The Pee Wee Panthers are back in action against West Seneca West and back at Hillis Field on Sept. 15, were they play Lake Shore.
