School Taxes

TODAT I GOT MY SCHOOL TAXES FOR 2012. REDICULOUS, WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO BACK OFF. THESE TEACHER DEMANDS AND SALARIES ARE WAY OUT OF HAND. WHAT ARE WE, ON FIXED INCOME, GOING TO DO? TEACHERS GO TO COLLEGE AND TAKE THE EASIEST CURRICULUM, TO GET A DEGREE SO THEY CAN BE PAID LIKE SCIENTIST.I SEE ALL THOSE HIGH PRICED VEHICLES IN THEIR PARKING LOTS, AND YOU KNOW THOSE ARE THEIR SECOND CAR. MOSTLY FOREIGN BY THE WAY. OVERWORKED AND UNDERPAID, MY BACK. I GOT TO PAY FOR THEIR LIFETIME BENEFITS, EVEN WHEN THE COST GOES UP. WHY DON'T THEY COVER THE INCREASE. A LOT OF TEACHER'S KIDS DON'T EVEN GO TO OUR SCHOOLS, THEY'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, THEY SEND THEM TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS LIKE ST JOE'S, CANISIUS OR NICHOLS, CAUSE THEY CAN AFFORD IT. WE BUS THEM FOR THEM TOO, GOOD GRIEF.OH, DON'T EVALUATE ME, YOU MIGHT FIND OUT I DON'T KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT TEACHING, AND LOOSE MY JOB. I NEED MORE TIME OFF, CAUSE 180 DAYS A YEAR IS WAY TOO MUCH.I HAVE TO WORK THROUGH THE SUMMER TO MAKE ENDS MEET. GIVE US A BREAK, BETWEEN YOU GUYS AND DOCTORS. YOU'RE SEND US OLDER PEOPLE TO THE POOR HOUSE AND I DON'T LIKE IT.

Stop Ranting

Give me a break. We all make choices in life, you chose your fate and teachers chose to spend 6 years obtaining a masters degree and certifications. Then they enter the workforce at about 35K per year not only to teach our children but to act as a second parent to amny of the children who are failed at home. What profession requires a masters degree and tops out around 80K after almost 20 years in the profession. Teachers get summers off, for which they don't get paid, yet with the after hours of planning and grading they put in an entire year in the 10 months they teach and then some. How about we rant about all the dang social security taxes and medacade we pay for seniors that most likely won't be there in our golden years. You may be elderly, but you still have quite a bit of growing up to do.

Teachers

I am a senior, and people like you give us a bad name! My late husband taught for over 30 yrs. and didn't earn as much as our neighbor who worked at FORD! I stayed up at night helping him correct papers, and doing lessons planning! My heart aches for these folks, who are heroes in my eyes!

Personally I agree. Why should we have to pay these insane taxes? My wife and I have no kids and are not going to, so why should I have to donate my hard working money to a school where I see under age kids smoking cigarets right next to the school parking lot? Or maybe it is so I can see these kids walking around with their pants around their knees with the vocabulary of Yo, and dude. Or how about 1/2 the kids that are taught now in days think Titanic was nothing but a movie, and can not even do a simple fraction with out a computer or calculator. Yea I can see how well our tax dollars are being wasted.
