School Transportation Cut

Cheektowaga Sloan had a proposal to cut bus service to those who lives than a half mile for the elementary schools and a little more for the high school. I just want to say whoever put that proposal on the ballet should of thought things through. There are alot of people who do not have a vehicle and need for the bus to pick up their child for school because they would not send them otherwise. My child would be cut from bus service next year and I do not have the extra money for gas when it is $4/gallon to drive my child to school everyday. Also my other child does after school clubs and let out time is the same time I would have to pick the other child. I can not be in two places at once. So now what do I tell my older child she can not particpate because they will not have a way home. I thought the whole idea is to keep these kids interested in school not tell them they can't because they have no way home. I am sure I am not the only with these issues. Did these people also think of how long and confussing it will be at dismissal time when you have all these people trying to pick up their children from school. There are alot of parents picking up there children now and your going to add more to mix. I hope no one gets hurt all to save about 60 cents in their taxes. Is it really worth it.

I totally feel for you, now I have to cut my work day shorter in order to drive my child to and from school next year.Where am I ahead? The person who came up with this bright idea obviously doesn't have children of their own nor do they care about the safety of our children.
