So tired of this...

Since moving to Cheektowaga over a year ago, i've noticed alot that is worse than the "inner city" that I came from. I live on a dead end street...... so why do the neighbors blow down Heritage Ct at 40 mph when there are children (like my 2 year old) and a home for the disabled across the street. It seems like a street cleaner hasn't paid this street a visit in years and the trash collectors do their best to make things look.... trashy. I'd love to do half a days work and get paid for a full day with all the nice benefits and whatnot. So with that, how about they buy some of the people on the street new garbage cans since they are strewn about every morning? Maybe while the seniors wont speak up, I certainly will. In the city of Buffalo (which all of you suburbanites typically lift a high nose to) they place their garbage totes back with respect. Here in good old Cheektowaga though, everyone has to bend over to pick up their now beaten cans (WHICH WE PAY FOR) and whatever other garbage they leave on the sidewalk. If this doesnt correct the problem, I will be calling whomever runs these departments until some sort of normalcy is restored. Funny thing is how most people jump down the "cities" throat for varying reasons, yet there are more problems in the 'burbs.

First maybe call the Police Department and speak who is incharge with the Traffic Department,And if the Garbage is so much better in the City , the 33 isnt to far from where you live use it !

Agreed

You know, I HAVE noticed the garbage cans in Cheektowaga floating about the streets after our trash pickup has gone through. There has been many a time when I have had to stop my car in the middle of the road, get out, and remove a trashcan from rolling around in the street, and only then continue on without the threat of hitting a garbage can. Luckily it's not a busy street! However, to be completely fair, I'm not sure if all of these cans are rolling about because they are lighter without trash holding them down and the wind takes them, or if it is our trash collectors.
