BAD CONTRACT DEAL FOR CHEEKTOWAGA...AGAIN!!

The contract with the towns biggest union is to be settled. But at tax payers expense again. With health care expected to increase by 9% this year..our town officials think they did a good job with making town employees pay 5-15% toward their health premiums..did the town not do their homework?? simple math says the taxpayers and the town lose that one. My wife and I have good employers but still pay much more than 10% towards our health care. Holtz states that old contracts were signed when they were in competition with GM, General Mills. Those are 2 companies that are self sustaining.. they sell a product and should never be compared to town govt. Last but not least. The new contract states that the number of union employees the town must employ went down by 25. How can a union dictate how many employees the town must employ? No business would be crazy enough to agree to that. We need real people to run our town. The time for the good old boys club to be closed is now.

You people will never learn as long as you keep the same old democrats in office. New blood means new ideas, same old people means you get what you like paying for. So, stop your crying, pay up you voted for this contract.

Kudos to the town board and the union. For a very realistic contract for the way times are going. As a home owner and life long resident of the town. I like to say thanks and keep up the good work
