PITTSBURGH, PA – The University at Buffalo football team played with, and in many cases, outplayed pre-season Top 25 selection Pittsburgh on Saturday night before 42,494 fans at Heinz Field. However, several untimely penalties and mistakes caused the Bulls to fall short by a 27-16 score to fall to 1-1 on the season. In its home opener Friday afternoon, the Buffalo women’s soccer team blanked the Bison of Howard University, 4-0, to continue their perfect season. Goals were scored by Jennifer Mihok (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland), Martina Pettenuzzo (Arlington Heights, IL/Prospect), and Lindsey Bailey (Burlington, Ontario/Assumption).
