On Wednesday, June 19th the Valley Community Association will be hosting the third week of their Wednesday Night Summer Concert Series at Buffalo River Fest Park, located at 249 Ohio Street, Buffalo, New York. The concert will run from 6:30pm to 10:30pm and will feature the local band West of the Mark. West of the Mark has performed over 500 shows since 2004 in the local and Central NY areas. Playing hits from the 90s through today, they play with energy and styling that ring true to the original reco...rdings with their own little twists to each song they perform. Covered artists include Tim McGraw, Alabama, Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, and Johnny Cash. The band has shared the stage with over 30+ national recording artists and touring acts since 2004 including Uncle Kracker, Diamond Rio, Dierks Bentley, Big and Rich, Gretchen Wilson, and The Oak Ridge Boys. West of the Mark has also hosted WYRK 106.5s annual Country on the Coast Concert for the last past four years and has been the summer house band every Thursday night at the Mickey Rats Beach Club. They have also played at Canalfest of the Tonawandas, Langford Jamboree, Jam in the Valley, and at the Buckin Buffalo Saloon. The band was founded by Jay Urbaniak (lead vocals/acoustic guitar/rhythm electric) in 2000 as a country duo, and branched out with the finest country musicians in the City of Buffalo including Dave Lipowski (bass guitar/vocals), Lyle Stag (keyboards/vocals), Pat OConnell (drums/vocals), Bruce Rounds (lead guitar/vocals). West of the Mark has been honored with numerous awards and nominations in the Buffalo music scene. They have been awarded with Artvoice Magazine Top Country Act in 2008 and in 2010, Nightlife Magazines Best Country Band in 2010 for group honors. As a follow-up to this Petruzzi narrated an audio guide to the Gettysburg battlefield. The 18th annual Ride For Roswell presented by West Herr Automotive Group will take place on Saturday, June 22, at the University at Buffalo (North Campus) in Amherst, N.Y. The Ride For Roswell weekend begins with the Opening Ceremony on Friday, June 21. The second annual Ride Opening Ceremony will honor Roswell Parks patients, survivors, caregivers, riders, volunteers and sponsors who make The Ride one of Western New Yorks premiere fundraising events.
